Gut Strings Viola

The suggested sets of gut strings for Baroque viola are examples of so-called “equal tension“ strings. The gradations between the gut string sets for Baroque violin, such as “Light” (460 Hz), “Medium” (440 Hz), and “Heavy” (415 Hz) are done in semitone steps.
